Myself and the Icon Digital Marketing team yesterday had the pleasure of attending the third annual Australian Google Analytics User Conference at the PowerHouse Museum Sydney. Icon has had a representative at each of the three Australian conferences.
The Google Analytics User Conference
, as always, was an ideal forum for us to learn the latest techniques and trends directly fromexperts from Google and other leaders in the industry.
By far the highlight of the day was the keynote presentation by a man who can only be described as a Google Analytics superstar, Avinash Kaushik. Avinash is recognised worldwide as a Digital Marketing Evangelist for Google and his presentation can only be decribed as electrified and exciting, sharing new tools within Google Analytics and demonstrating how to better use the data available to create imp actful marketing campaigns. The focus for his presentation was to take all the data inside Google Analytics, break it down to what it means for your business and report it based on actionable insights that will directly make an impact on profits.
Second keynote was Analytics Evangelist for Google , Justin Cutroni.
The focus for Justin’s presentation was to demonstrate how people, process and platform all work together to deliver insightful analytic reports and data that is meaningful for business. An interesting take away from Justin’s presentation is that keeping data a deep down hidden tool only accessed by the data analyst can be a mistake for business. Sharing data – while delivering the right training so people know what the data means – can benefit business as well as free up digital experts to be doing more insightful reports as they are no longer spending hours each day pulling easy data that others can now easily access. The day continued with expert after expert talking through the deep value of data in marketing efforts, both online and offline, and offering a range of tools that will benefit our team and our clients.
Let's start that project! We’d love to hear from you. Simply send us a message via the request form and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
