  • Icon Digital Marketing team expands to three qualified Google partner individuals
  • New partner status recognises high quality of Icon’s digital marketing campaigns

Icon Visual Marketing is pleased to announce they have achieved official Google Partner status in search advertising and display advertising under the new Google Partner program set to launch next month in Australia.

The Google Partners program is an upgrade from the old Google Certified Professional program. In order to become a Google Partner there are more stringent qualifications required.PartnerBadge-Horizontal-web

For Certifications an individual must pass at least two AdWords certification exams, including the Search Fundamentals Exam and one advanced exam. For Best Practices, the individual must demonstrate that they've mastered the essentials covered in the Google certification exams and that they are maximising their clients' campaign performance.

Icon Visual Marketing meets all these qualifications. Google states in reference to achieving Partner Status, "anyone can join Google Partners, but only trusted agencies can earn Google's seal of approval."

The status of Google Partner is a marker of trust and quality, given out to companies which meet strict criteria and are capable of displaying an outstanding level of proficiency in using the AdWords system.

Three members of the Icon Visual Marketing Digital marketing team are fully accredited Google AdWords Qualified Individuals. Digital marketing manager Tim Bekpayev , Strategic Marketing Manager, Sheree Gover and Digital Marketing Coordinator Alex Cresta all have achieved and maintained Google AdWords Qualified Individual Status. Sheree and Tim are also Google Analytics Qualified Individuals.

Statistics from last quarter 2012 showed that there were 165 Adwords Qualified individuals working across Australia’s 97 Certified Partner agencies, the majority of agencies being very small with only one Adwords qualified individual.

The same research also found the majority of agencies were offering a single digital service only - SEM, Interactive or PPC. Only 4% of Australian certified agencies are full service, offering an end to end marketing service for brands, including a range of online and offline marketing activities.

Media is complex. Much more than it used to be. Since the dawn of the internet and rise of social media, the number of media options has exploded. For a marketing manager, they are like pieces of a puzzle, interconnecting and working together. So, how does a marketing manager make the pieces form a nice, big, beautiful picture, to successfully stand out not only amongst the competition but above the vast array of media noise? American digital marketing expert, Gini Dietrich, identified four types of media: Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned. She called it the PESO model . Here we look at the four types of media. We describe and analyse each one and discuss how they all fit together.

When we launched in 2003, the trend in agencies was to provide a specialist service, like creative or media buying. But we saw the opportunity to offer full-service marketing to our clients, taking the pain away from managing multiple agencies with multiple processes. We’ve chosen to continue to base ourselves in the Macarthur region, moving to Campbelltown in our current office nearly six years ago. This has enabled us to build strong working relationships with many companies in our region including property developers, builders, manufacturers, local Councils, venues, and many more. We’ve also worked with loads of companies outside the region which is becoming so much easier with the aid of technology. We’re not just suppliers, but genuine business partners. I’d like to thank the many clients I’ve worked alongside in the past 20 years and look forward to continuing many of those relationships.
