Case Study - Pet Greens

Pet Greens Case Study

Strategy

Pet Greens came to Icon with the idea of wanting to offer farm fresh pet supplements of potted pet grass and potted catnip via online subscription directly from the farm to the customers. However, after many prototypes and trial runs, they could not get the right packaging solution.

They needed a unique, innovative packaging design that would enable the product to get to the customer in functional condition. This posed a two-part problem: keeping the dirt in the small potted plants contained, and stabilising the plant inside the outer container so dampness of the product wouldn’t impact the integrity of the outer shipper.

Solution

Icon started in-house prototyping by using an assortment of possible lining and packaging materials, drawing from experience across the company, from the Creative department to the Managing Director, to discover and deliver the best solution. This required an intimate understanding of production layout, manufacturing process and farm operation.

Results

Icon delivered a highly intuitive, collaborative solution that would enable easy, secure and economically viable packaging and shipping. While do so, Icon developed the unique brand for Pet Greens, the characters that go along with them, the website and signed an agreement with Dr Katrina Warren as the spokesperson for Pet Greens in Australia.
